Sàbàs Gíhm (/sə/ /bəs/ [name; title] [brown]) is a subtropical City located in the Kveviēid Region of the Tetburland.

The name Sàbàs Gíhm is derived from the Goblin language, as Sàbàs Gíhm was founded by Whudmuik, who was culturaly Tauran.

Climate

Sàbàs Gíhm has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Sàbàs Gíhm receives an average of 239 cm/y (94 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Overview

Sàbàs Gíhm was founded durring the late 9th century, by Whudmuik. The establishment of Sàbàs Gíhm was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Whudmuik struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Sàbàs Gíhm as a prison colony.

Sàbàs Gíhm was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the late 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Sàbàs Gíhm is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Sàbàs Gíhm is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of narrow packed earth streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Sàbàs Gíhm's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. The city's political statment focused walls are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the city's defences.

Sàbàs Gíhm has the unmistakable air of a city on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Sàbàs Gíhm ’s existence has dried up and the city is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Likely due to this, Sàbàs Gíhm is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a city, and more like a spot people just happened to have homes. One cannot help but wonder what Sàbàs Gíhm was like during the glorydays.

Cultural Notes

One or more crime bosses have a powerful influence within Sàbàs Gíhm. They may control crime within the community itself, or they may use it simply as a safe haven from which to direct their minions elsewhere. Local law enforcement may know all about them, but lack the strength to confront them and their paid or intimidated henchmen.

Sàbàs Gíhm's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Yächug åzåḡ Holt was struck by a drought when Tarn Laguna grew too small to continue feeding Stream Lotus, which reduced the available water supply nationwide, but was especially harsh in the area arround Sàbàs Gíhm. As the neighboring regions had no water so spare, Sàbàs Gíhm lost 107 people, and 330 livestock in the disaster.. The drought lasted for 3 weeks, which are remembered as the Torment Thirst.
